The government is now to bring in a National Health Insurance Scheme to cater for the increasing population in the country.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, SImon Miti said this is aimed at improving health services particularly in many of the rural areas.
Dr. Miti was speaking when he launched the Zambia State Insurance Corporation Travel Medical Insurance Policy in Lusaka.
And Dr. Miti has disclosed that the ending of user fees in hospitals has increased the number of people looking for health care services.
He called on the Zambia State Insurance Corporation to work with government to make sure the success of the national health insurance policy.
